RCA Urges Its Members and Their Congregations to Visit Israel

Jun 1, 1983 — Whereas Israel’s main source of foreign currency is by tourist industry, and

Whereas the tourist experience is a powerful factor in fashioning sympathy for and identification with Israel’s needs both materially and politically, and

Whereas tourism from Western Europe has declined in the aftermath of the Shalom Hagalil Campaign, therefore

The Rabbinical Council of America in convention assembled,

URGES its members and their congregations to undertake visits to Israel with the goal of having every member of our congregations visit Israel at least once.
