The Rabbinical Council of America, the leading membership organization of Orthodox rabbis in North America, extends its congratulations to President-Elect Donald J. Trump on his election as the 47th President of the United States, and to Vice President-Elect James D. Vance.
Rabbi Zvi Engel, President of the RCA, stated: “We pray that President Trump will carry out the duties of his office with integrity and dedication, and that he will continue his enduring support for the State of Israel. The greatest ally of the United States in the Middle East is confronting existential threats, with 101 men, women, and children still held hostage by Hamas, ongoing rocket attacks from Iranian proxies Hezbollah and the Houthis, and repeated direct attacks from Iran. We hope that President Trump will further strengthen the U.S.-Israel alliance at this critical time.
Jewish communities around the world yearn for peace, pray for peace, and work toward peace. As King David prayed for his nation in Jerusalem over three thousand years ago, we echo those words for our own nation today: ‘May God give strength to His people, may God bless His people with peace.’ (Psalm 29) We hope that President Trump will build upon his previous achievements, including the historic Abraham Accords, and will advance peace at home and abroad through both his words and actions.”
Rabbi Etan Tokayer, Vice President of the RCA, added: “Our rabbis lead their congregations in weekly prayers for the safety and welfare of the President, Vice President, and all government officials. We will continue to pray that this administration crafts and enacts policies that promote national and international security, economic and social well-being, and a society where all can live with dignity.”
The RCA is the leading membership organization of Orthodox rabbis in North America. Founded in 1935, the RCA serves to support and promote the welfare and development of its member rabbis. It gives voice to Jewish and general society of the outlook of Orthodox Jewish tradition and thought on contemporary issues.
