The RCA Condemns Latest Anti-Semitic Attack in Monsey, NY

December 30, 2019 – The Rabbinical Council of America, the leading membership organization of orthodox rabbis in North America, expresses its deep anguish and concern following the violent anti-Semitic attack in a home in Monsey, NY. The RCA offers its prayers for a speedy recovery to the five injured by a machete-yielding domestic terrorist and healing to the entire community.

Rabbi Daniel Korobkin, president of the RCA, said, “We are alarmed at the increase in number of violent anti-Semitic attacks in the United States and throughout the world. While the Jewish community has increased security and protection in our community institutions, we look to governmental leadership to condemn these violent acts and protect our people. We also mourn the loss of two lives in a church in Texas and extend our sympathies to their families and community.”

Rabbi Binyamin Blau, vice president of the RCA, said, “We, in this post-Holocaust generation, remind the world of the dangers and horrors of anti-Semitism and of racism and bigotry of all kinds.  While we are concerned about the safety of our own community, history has taught us that attacks against Jews are attacks against people of all faiths, races, and ethnicities. We must work together to protect the safety and welfare of all communities and to establish a society of mutual respect.”
