RCA Thanks President Biden for Strong Support of Israel; Calls for Strong Bipartisan Support in Congress

The Rabbinical Council of America, the leading membership organization of orthodox rabbis in North America, expresses its appreciation to President Joseph Biden for his pledge of “full support to replenish Israel’s Iron Dome system to ensure its defenses and security in the future.”  Iron Dome air defense systems depleted while defending Israeli citizens from over 4,000 rockets deployed by the terrorist organization Hamas during the recent conflict saved countless lives of both Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel. The RCA recognizes the strong support of many in the United States Congress for the United States’ staunchest ally in the Middle East and views with great concern the erosion of this support among some members of Congress, weakening this historically bipartisan position.

Rabbi Daniel Korobkin, president of the RCA, said, “We pray that the current ceasefire will hold and that the innocent inhabitants of the Middle East, men women and children, will be safe from the threats and attacks of terrorist missiles. We call upon our communities to reach out to their members of Congress to urge them to stand unequivocally with Israel.  We further call upon our communities to continue to pray for the safety and security of the State of Israel and the fulfillment of the words of Isaiah 60:18, ‘No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls salvation and your gates praise.'”
