Februry 28, 2023 – The Rabbinical Council of America expresses its deep concern over escalating terror attacks against Israelis, that resulted in the deaths of two brothers, Hallel and Yagel Yaniv, of Har Bracha as they drove through the Shomron town of Huwara, and of Elan Ganeles, a 27-year-old US-Israeli citizen killed in the Jordan Valley. The RCA extends its condolences to the bereaved along with prayers that these attacks cease and a period of calm and security will prevail.
Rabbi Binyamin Blau, president of the RCA, said, “Eighteen Israelis were murdered in terror attacks in the last two months. Children standing at bus stops, brothers driving in a car, people emerging from Sabbath prayers at a synagogue. We support the efforts of the Israeli government to protect all its citizens, and decry the egregious moral equivalency drawn by members of the Palestinian leadership between perpetrators and victims. We call on Palestinian leadership to actively prevent violence and terror, instead of fomenting escalation through irresponsible invective.”
