RCA Condemns Anti-Semitic Yom Kippur Attack in Halle, Germany

October 10, 2019

The Rabbinical Council of America, the leading organization of North American orthodox rabbis, expresses its solidarity with the Jewish community of Halle, Germany in mourning the murder of two innocent people and in condemning the despicable act of anti-Semitism in yesterday’s Yom Kippur attack.

“Our condolences go to the families of the victims,” said RCA President Rabbi Daniel Korobkin. “Incidents of violent anti-Semitism are on the rise. We call on European governments to act decisively in protecting their citizens from this hate-based violence.”

RCA Vice President Rabbi Binyamin Blau added, “This attack, which occurred on the most sacred day of the Jewish year when all of humanity is judged by God, reminds us that anti-Semitism is but one form of hatred and racism that plagues our world. We call upon all nations of the world to condemn this act of violence and to join together to create a safer world for all people of faith.”
