The Rabbinical Council of America looks with pain at the tear in the social fabric caused by the rhetoric over the proposed judicial reforms in Israel. We call on all those in political leadership to take necessary steps to work toward establishing a more cohesive and respectful society, including dialogue by both the government and the opposition.
Rabbi Binyamin Blau, RCA President said: “We have one Jewish state. It is out of our deep and abiding love for it that we are so pained at the divisiveness we see in Israel and throughout the Jewish world.”
Rabbi Zvi Engel, RCA Vice President added “Peace is among our core values as Jews. We pray for peace daily, and we greet each other with blessings for peace. We are confident that through dialogue, people of good faith can work to come together to calm tensions. It is not too late to try to heal these wounds.”
