Rabbi Hershel Billet of Woodmere, NY was elected president of the Rabbinical Council of America, the world’s largest Orthodox rabbinic organization, at its Sixty-Fifth Annual National Convention at the Rye Town Hilton, Westchester, New York.

Rabbi Billet has served as spiritual leader of The Young Israel of Woodmere of Woodmere, New York, for 21 years. A native of New York, Rabbi Billet was educated and ordained at Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University.
Rabbi Billet has lectured widely and has published numerous articles in Jewish journals and publications. He has been at the forefront of promulgating a safe and secure Israel and has raised significant funds for its defense.
Rabbi Billet and his wife Rookie, proud parents and grandparents, reside in Woodmere, New York.
