Rabbinical Council of America Releases Special Prayer for Safety of American Military Forces
Nov 9, 2001 — Cognizant of the harms way in which American Military Forces find themselves in the battle against terrorism, the Rabbinical Council of America has circulated a special prayer to be said in synagogues during the Sabbath services.
Rabbi Hershel Billet, the President, commented that “our congregations have always offered a prayer for the welfare of the President, Vice President, the Government and People of the United States; however during this crucial time, we thought that we should also have in mind those of our armed forces who are in fact protecting us and fighting for the values which we hold so near and dear.
Rabbi Steven M. Dworken, the Executive Vice President, added: “This prayer is said with the full cognizance of how blessed we are to live in the United States. God Bless America.”
