The Honorable Joseph R. Biden, Jr.
President of the United States
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, D.C. 20500
Dear President Biden,
We are writing to express our heartfelt gratitude for your leadership in opposing efforts to impose an arms embargo on the State of Israel earlier this week, as it continues to defend itself from enemies on multiple fronts. Your administration’s demonstrated commitment to Israel’s security and to the enduring partnership between our nations is deeply appreciated.
Israel remains a critical ally of the United States and a lodestar of democracy in a challenging region. We applaud your strong stance against those who sought to curtail Israel’s ability to defend itself. It underscores the shared values and strategic interests that bind our two nations.
We also urge your continued leadership in addressing challenges posed by international institutions like the International Criminal Court (ICC), which has overstepped its mandate by targeting democratically elected leaders of Israel. Actions such as these undermine the legitimacy of the ICC and threaten to erode the principles of impartial justice. We hope your administration will consider measures to hold the ICC accountable and to support Israel in the face of such unjust actions. These indictments are morally reprehensible.
Thank you once again for championing the democratic values that unite our two nations. Your leadership continues to inspire confidence in the strength of the U.S.-Israel relationship, and we remain deeply grateful for all that you have done and continue to do in this regard.
Sincerely yours,
Rabbi Zvi Engel Rabbi Menachem Penner
President Executive Vice President
