Rabbi Reuven Bulka and Rabbi Barry Kornblau Join the RCA
Rabbi Basil Herring, Executive Vice President of the Rabbinical Council of America, has announced two new staff appointments, to better serve the needs of RCA members and the Jewish community at large, effective immediately.
Rabbi Reuven Bulka will serve as the Director of Rabbinic Services, helping rabbis face the many challenges of congregational and community life. He brings a lifetime of successful pulpit experience and communal leadership to this position, in addition to his extensive accomplishments as a prolific author, lecturer, and community activist. At the RCA he will advise, guide and mentor rabbis across the board in their dealings with congregants, synagogue leaders, chaplaincies, and communal bodies, to the benefit of all concerned.
The second appointment is of Rabbi Barry Kornblau, who will assume the position of Director of Operations and Committees. In this capacity, Rabbi Kornblau will work to ensure the optimal effectiveness and productivity of all RCA operations, especially those relating to RCA administration, technology, communications, personnel, and committee matters. With an outstanding track record in both academia and corporate life, Rabbi Kornblau is well qualified to ensure that the RCA will live up to the highest standards of membership and communal service.
In related developments, Rabbi Herring also announced that Rabbi Gideon Shloush, currently the Director of Rabbinic Learning and Enrichment, will assume additional responsibilities in the areas of new member outreach and convention planning. As regards the latter, a third year semicha student at RIETS, Yoel Oz, has been appointed as the RCA representative to RIETS Semicha students.
With these appointments, the RCA looks forward to continued growth and restructuring as it anticipates expanding into new areas of rabbinic service as well as rabbinic leadership on all levels, in partnership with a variety of distinguished institutions and organizations in Jewish life.
