Raised in Silver Spring , Maryland , Rabbi Reuven Spolter attended Yeshivat Sha'alvim in Israel for two years after High School. After completing a degree in computer science from Yeshiva University 's Yeshiva College , Rabbi Spolter continued his studies at Yeshiva both at the Azrieli Graduate School for Jewish Education and Administration, and at the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, earning a Masters Degree in Jewish Education in 1998 and rabbinical ordination in 1997.
Rabbi Spolter spent three years as rabbi of Congregation Agudas Achim of West Hartford , CT where he also taught Judaic studies at the
Hebrew High School of New England.
He served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Rabbinical Council of America, is a member of the Council of Orthodox Rabbis of Detroit, the Michigan Board of Rabbis, and this year co-chaired the national convention of the National Council of Young Israel as well as the RCA national convention in 2007.
Rabbi Spolter is currently the spiritual leader of the Young Israel of Oak Park, in Oak Park , MI, where he has created numerous shul learning programs including a Monday night Beit Midrash Program, an annual Pre-Rosh Hashanah Speakers Series, as well as numerous other formal and informal educational programs.
Rabbi Spolter and his family will be making aliyah this summer, and Rabbi Spolter will be the director of the Bat Zion Overseas Program at the Orot College for Women in Israel.
