Rabbi Ilan D. Feldman has served Congregation Beth Jacob of Atlanta since 1980, since 1991 as its senior rabbi. Rabbi Feldman has had the unique privilege of serving in the community in which he was raised, having succeeded his father who held this position for 39 years. The synagogue is the center of a thriving Orthodox community that has received national attention for its vitality and growth. Rabbi Feldman played a major role in the development of Torah Day School of Atlanta in the mid-80’s and serves as its Rabbinic Advisor. He is the founder of the Atlanta Scholars Kollel, a team of families involved in outreach, adult education, and Talmud Torah, serving the broader Jewish community of Atlanta. Rabbi Feldman also serves as the Dean of the Atlanta Kashruth Commission. Rabbi Feldman is also the founder of the Atlanta Chapter of JACS (Jewish Alcohol, Chemical Addicts, and Significant Others), Getting Chai, an outreach program for Jews and their families recovering form the disease of addiction. The program has benefited close to 2,000 Jews from all walks of life from all over the country. Rabbi Feldman holds a Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University and was ordained in Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Baltimore, Maryland. He and wife, Miriam, are the proud parents of eight children and many grandchildren.
