Rabbi Albert and his wife Meira (Tirschwell) Albert have served as senior rabbi and rebbetzin of Congregation Beth Jacob Congregation since 2014. The Modern Orthodox synagogue prides itself on its diverse membership, communal warmth, and spiritual and intellectual engagement with Torah, Tefillah, and Gemilut Chasadim. Rabbi Albert’s involvement in the broader community includes serving as the halachic advisor and an active board member of the Oakland Hebrew Day School, member of the Rabbinic Advisory Council of Shalom Bayit (a domestic-violence prevention organization) and playing a supporting role in Limmud of the East Bay. In addition to being a member of the Rabbinical Council of America, he is also a member of the Chicago Rabbinical Council (which has members nation-wide), and the RIETS Rabbinic Alumni Association.

Rabbi Albert is passionate about inspiring community members to taking the next step in their Jewish journeys by sharing Torah that is intellectually stimulating, committed to Halacha, open and embracing to Jews of all backgrounds, and engages in the nexus between tradition and modern life. Being a passionate musician, he is also committed to enhancing Jewish ritual and spirituality through music and song. He, Meira and their daughter love the natural beauty and outdoor lifestyle of Northern California.
