Rabbi Elie Weinstock is Associate Rabbi at KJ, where he also serves as the Director of Education and Outreach, and custodian of the shul's highly developed Beginners Program. He is also a member of the Talmud faculty at the Ramaz Middle School. A veteran of both formal and informal educational programs and a Yeshiva University graduate, he received his Rabbinic ordination from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary and a masters in Jewish Philosophy from the Bernard Revel Graduate school. Rabbi Weinstock also serves as special advisor to Rabbi Ephraim Buchwald at NJOP, where he works with the NJOP team to help further enhance the breadth, scope and effectiveness of the organization’s programming.
Born in Brooklyn and raised in New Haven, CT, Rabbi Weinstock from an early age was involved in educational and outreach activities through involvement with Chabad and NCSY. He began his professional career as Associate Director of the New England Region of NCSY and spent three of those years living in the wilds of Greenwich, CT – a town without an established Orthodox community.
Rabbi Weinstock is a past member of the Executive Committee of the Rabbinical Council of America, is active in RIETS Rabbinic Alumni and is an officer of the New York Board of Rabbis and the Rabbinic Cabinet of the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA). He is a member of AIPAC’s National Council, a group of activists that works to address the key issues in the US-Israel relationship and spends several days a year lobbying members of Congress directly on legislation that impacts Israel’s safety and security.
Rabbi Weinstock is married to Dr. Naama Weinstock, a dentist practicing in NYC, who grew up in Memphis, TN. They are the proud parents of Meira, Yona, Aviva, and Yakira..
