Rabbi David S. Fine, 37, is the spiritual leader of Congregation Beth Israel Abraham and Voliner in Overland Park, Kansas, where he has been since August, 2003. He serves a community of approximately 120 members/families. Prior to this position, Rabbi Fine served as the rabbi of the Lake Park Synagogue in Milwaukee, WI for 5 years.
Rabbi Fine received his BA cum laude with High Honors in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University, his MA in Jewish History from the Graduate School of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America and Smicha from the Joseph Straus Rabbinical Seminary in Efrat, Israel.
Rabbi Fine has been a member of the Rabbinical council of America for seven years. He currently serves on the executive Board of the RCA and is a member of the Chicago Rabbinical Council (CRC).
In his role of Rabbi of BIAV, he is also the Rav HaMachshir of the Kansas City Vaad HaKashruth and the Halachic authority for the Kansas City Eruv, and the Chevre Kadisha.
Rabbi Fine is involved in many areas of chesed both personally and professionally. He is especially committed to the support and building up of small communities. When reflecting on some of his recent successes in his current pulpit, he is perhaps most proud of having started up a well attended daf yomi shiur in a community that never had one.
Rabbi Fine is married to Dr. Julie (nee Goldstein), a psychologist and together they have four sons: Etan, Chanan, Amiel and Zecharia.
