Rabbi Cohen began serving as spiritual leader of Congregation Agudath Sholom in 2005. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Rabbi Cohen is a graduate of Yeshiva University in New York and its Azrieli Graduate School. He received his rabbinic ordination from Yeshiva University’s Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary.
After his ordination he and his wife, Diane, spent a year in Israel, after which he returned to the United States to serve as an assistant rabbi in West Orange, New Jersey. His first pulpit as a senior rabbi was in West Hartford where he spent about seven years in which time he doubled their membership. Rabbi Cohen then moved on to a much larger synagogue in Denver, a position he held for the three years immediately prior to coming to Congregation Agudath Sholom.
Rabbi Cohen serves as a treasurer of the Rabbinical Council of America, and was the chair of the RCA Stategic Plan and Implementation Committee. He is also a regional board member of the Anti-Defamation League, a member of American Israel Public Affairs Committee National Council, and the current chairman of the Vaad of Fairfield County and the Stamford Rabbinical Council.

Rabbi Cohen and Diane are the proud parents of six daughters: Sara Malka, Michal, Adina, Elisheva, Tamar and Shalhevet.
