At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Rabbinical Council of America, held at the National Convention at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Stamford, Ct., on Monday, May 20, 2019, President Elazar Muskin in the chair, and Reuven Tradburks acting on behalf of the secretary, the following items were decided:

The minutes of Executive Committee meeting of March 6, 2019 were approved.

The Election Committee consists of 3 members. Petition candidates have the option of submitting their own member to the Election Committee. If they so choose, the committee will have an even number of members. As such, a motion to approve the addition of Ira Kronenberg as a member of the Election Committee should the need arise was passed unanimously.

The Petition Candidates are: Ben Kelsen, Saul Gold, Yerachmiel Seplowitz and Gil Student.

A motion to approve new members Mordechai Benyowitz, Shneor Claman, Pinchas Fink, Yitzchak Grossman, David Sher, Betzalel Sochaczewski, Stephen Wohlgelernter, David Zirkind passed unanimously.

Keshet Starr, Esq, Executive Director of ORA reported on the importance and value of continued cooperation of RCA Rabbis with the work of ORA both in advancing use of the pre nup and in supporting ORA’s efforts with recalcitrant spouses.

Abby Lerner, Director of Conversion Services of the GPS Conversion Batei Din reported on her activities including many conversations with conversion candidates and sponsoring rabbis and encouraged financial support of the GPS batei din in order to allow them to work most efficiently.

Doniel Kramer related that the RCA Healthcare Chaplaincy Committee endorses the appointment of a Healthcare Chaplain to the planning of the Convention to enhance the Convention experience for healthcare chaplains.
