Minutes for Wed., March 2, 2022 meeting of the RCA Executive Committee

At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Rabbinical Council of America, held by conference call, on Wed., March 2, 2022, President Binyamin Blau in the chair, and Reuven Tradburks acting on behalf of the secretary, the following items were decided:

Shmuel Felzenberg, Chaplain, senior active duty chaplain in the Department of Defense addressed the war in Ukraine and the role of chaplains.

Motion to accept Aaron Banjio, Binyamin Halpern, Alexander Shulman and Yeshayahu Winiarz for membership passed unanimously.

Nominations Committee members approved: Daniel Korobkin, Chair, Tuvia Brander, Yosef Sharbat, Gil Student, Howard Zack.

Election Committee members approved: Ben Kelsen, Chair, Judah Kerbel, Greg Wall, Moshe Bomzer (alternate)

The Annual Meeting has been set for Thursday, June 16, 2022

Mark Dratch reported on IJCIC activities culminating with the forthcoming declaration acceptance by the World Evangelical Alliance of the IHRA definition of anti-semitism.  A formal acceptance will be made at a program on Yom Hashoah at Yad Vashem.

Josh Sturm made a guest presentation on Renewal, an initiative supporting kidney transplants. 

Penina Flug made a guest presentation on premarital counselling.
