The Rabbinical Council of America in convention assembled,
NOTES with sorrow the plight of Ethiopian Jewry who are suffering from deprivation and discrimination. In addition to their political persecution, they are suffering from the drought that has devastated their region of the country. We therefore, call upon the State of Israel to take whatever steps are necessary to save their lives and ask our members to aid the legitimate organizations that have been assisting them.
