| THE RABBINICAL COUNCIL OF AMERICA APPLAUDS the United States government for its role in the rescue of thousands of our brethren from Ethiopia. WE ACKNOWLEDGE its role in these operations and for its efforts on behalf of beleaguered Jewish communities everywhere. However, the plight of ten thousand Ethiopian Jews still remaining is of profound concern to us. Famine and oppression decimate their numbers while constant persecution burdens their daily existence. WE THEREFORE CALL UPON the United States Government to monitor their situation and work toward their freedom. |
