At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Rabbinical Council of America, held at the RCA office on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, the President, Shmuel Goldin in the chair, and Dov Levine acting on behalf of the secretary, the following items were decided:
1. A motion to accept minutes of previous Executive Committee meetings (March and May, 2012) passed unanimously.
2. A motion to approve the membership application of Eitan Kupietzky was approved unanimously.
3. A motion to hire Rabbi Mark Dratch and to empower the Transition Committee to finalize the offer of a 2-year contract. It is understood that the total amount of his compensation package will be somewhat less that Rabbi Herring’s, which, along with other possible budgetary surpluses, will leave room to negotiate with both Rabbi Herring and Rabbi Kornblau. It passed, 26 in favor, 5 opposed, 5 abstaining.
