RCA Supports Netanyahu’s Foreign Policy Posture

The Rabbinical Council of America expresses its admiration of, and full support for, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s recent far-reaching address on foreign policy. We laud the government and people of the State of Israel in their continued courageous search for security and peace.

We commend Prime Minister Netanyahu’s pledge to allow for the natural growth of the Jewish communities of Judea and Samaria in line with reassurances tendered by previous governments of the United States.

The unbreakable millennia-old bond between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel must be acknowledged by all parties as a prerequisite to serious negotiations. Israel’s character as a Jewish State is inviolate. All forms of Palestinian incitement against the State of Israel in the press, media and children’s textbooks must end.

In light of the violent attacks against Israel that followed Israel’s disengagement from both Lebanon and Gaza, and considering the continued threats posed by Syria and Iran, Prime Minister Netanyahu’s requirement for the demilitarization of any future Palestinian entity is of critical importance.

We acknowledge with gratitude the common ideals that have, for decades, defined the deep friendship between the United States of America and the State of Israel. With those very ideals under severe attack throughout the world, we trust in that continued friendship during the complicated times ahead.
