RCA Dismayed at US Decision to Work with Hamas Coalition

The Rabbinical Council of America voices its great dismay at the decision of the United States to work with a Palestinian unity government that includes Hamas, a terrorist organization that continues to call for Israel’s destruction. We call upon the President to uphold federal law and withhold American material support from this new entity.

Rabbi Leonard Matanky, president of the RCA, said, “After the recent attacks in Belgium and France, we cannot fail to note that where the resolve against terrorism and terrorist wane, innocent people die. The United States should not make that mistake. We hope and pray that the United States maintains its absolute commitment to fight terror wherever it may be, and support its strongest ally in the Middle East, Israel.”
