RCA Congratulates New Israeli Government

June 13, 2021 – The Rabbinical Council of America, the leading membership organization of orthodox rabbis in North America, welcomes the thirty-sixth government of the State of Israel and congratulates incoming Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and incoming Foreign Minister Yair Lapid. The peaceful transition of governments is a sign of the vibrant democracy that is the State of Israel.

Rabbi Daniel Korobkin, president of the RCA, said, “We pray that this new government, representing a wide spectrum of the Israeli citizenry, will have the wisdom and skill to meet the security, domestic, economic, and international relations challenges facing the State of Israel today. Prime Minister Bennett’s promise to represent all factions of the Israeli population is encouraging and we look forward to strengthening the ties between the diaspora community and the Jewish state. We note the historic significance that Mr. Bennett is the first prime minister of Israel who regularly wears a kippah and proudly identifies as an Orthodox Jew.”

Rabbi Binyamin Blau, vice president of the RCA, said, “In addition, we extend our appreciation to outgoing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, recognizing his historic contributions to the State of Israel, its welfare and security.”
