Rabbi Kenny Schiowitz studied at Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh and then at Yeshiva University. He received smicha from RIETS in 1999 and completed the Kollel Elyon in 2003. Rabbi Schiowitz is the founding rabbi of Congregation Shaare Tefillah of Teaneck which has grown from a fledgling minyan in a living room into a full service shul of about 100 families over the past 14 years. Rabbi Schiowitz also teaches at the Ramaz Upper School where he serves as Talmud Department Chair and Rosh Beit Midrash. He has published a series of teacher guides for the teaching of Talmud as well as student workbooks that have been published by OU Press and can be found www.ou.org/oupress/product-category/halacha-aggadah-sifrei-kodesh/madrikh-la-moreh-talmud-la-talmid">here. He has also published in Ten Daat journal. Rabbi Schiowitz also used Talmud instructional videos that are accessible on the www.RamazTorah YouTube channel. Rabbi Schiowitz won the www.Grinspoon-Steinhardt Award for Excellence in Jewish Education in 2009. Rabbi Schiowitz published the Sefer Shiurei HaRav al Masechet Chalah UMitzvot Hateluyot Baaretz, that captures the lectures of Rabbi Joseph Soloveitchik and has recently published the Pri Etz Chaim on various halakhik topics, published together with the third volume of Rabbi Menachem Genack’s Gan Shoshanim.
