The Rabbinical Council of America, the leading membership organization of Orthodox rabbis in North America, expresses its outrage and sadness over the senseless murder of 59 innocent human beings in Las Vegas in the largest mass murder of Americans on American soil.
Rabbi Elazar Muskin, president of the RCA, said, “We extend our sincerest sympathy to the families and friends of those murdered and pray for the wellbeing of the hundreds who were injured. We recognize the heroism of many, lay and professional alike, and express our gratitude to the first responders, hospitals, medical teams, and volunteers . As we stand on the eve of the holiday of Sukkot, the holiday which recognizes God’s loving protection, we pray for God’s protection and safety of all who are vulnerable and in need.”
Rabbi Daniel Korobkin, vice president of the RCA, said, “This latest act of violence calls upon us as a society to reflect seriously on what we need to do to prevent these all too frequent and outrageous episodes of violence.”
