In keeping with its longstanding, foundational commitment to promoting the welfare of Israel in general and to fostering aliyah in particular, the Rabbinical Council of America hereby resolves that its members should:
• inspire, encourage and educate about aliyah through all venues
possible, including the pulpit, communicating the message that after
centuries of exile, God has given our people the State of Israel as our
national home, and that all Jews should seriously consider making it
their personal home, as well;
• arrange aliyah missions to Israel, including visitation with past congregants or others who have successfully made aliyah;
• dedicate certain Shabbatot during the year to host people who have successfully made aliyah, demonstrating that successful aliyah is possible;
• connect prospective olim to institutions such as the Jewish Agency, Nefesh B’Nefesh, and Tehilla to facilitate the process of making aliyah;
• take pride in those who are making aliyah, honoring them with suitable, public farewell greetings;
• encourage Jews who are not planning to make aliyah to support those who wish to do so by allocating funds to Nefesh B’Nefesh and other institutions fostering aliyah.
